Roz Pugh is expanding her business to offer administrative solutions.

Roz Pugh started her entrepreneur journey when she joined R&B Insurance Services. “With the support and love from my husband and children, I jumped on the opportunity,” she said. “R&B helped me to obtain my insurance license and learn the business. The experience that they bring to the table helps me to grow every day.”

From there, she decided to expand her business to include virtual assistant solutions so she could help individuals and small businesses with their needs from an administrative perspective as well as an insurance perspective.

I noticed that many individuals and businesses struggled to manage their responsibilities. I know what it is like to be overwhelmed and need help.

When considering her business, she knew that Startup Alleghenies and connecting with coach Matt Reckner wasn’t only a good idea but essential to her success. Pugh and her husband first worked with Reckner when they launched The Puddle and Bert’s BBQ, an outdoor event venue and catering service.

“Matt was so helpful when we opened The Puddle,” Pugh said. “He helped me think big and know my potential and played a huge role in shifting from simple insurance sales to full-blown administrative help.”

Business Services by Roz is a full-service virtual assistant business. “I provide comprehensive administrative support and insurance solutions to individuals and businesses,” Pugh said. “My main services include managing administrative tasks, coordinating schedules, organizing documentation and offering insurance policies tailored to my clients’ specific needs.”

“I help the small business, the overworked mom or the person who feels overwhelmed with everything that needs to be accomplished,” she continued. “It allows my clients to focus on what is important that only they can do and then delegate what can be delegated.”

She said the beauty of being her own boss is flexibility and freedom. “I know what it is like to be overwhelmed and need help,” she said. “I noticed that many individuals and businesses struggled to manage their responsibilities. By helping them, I can have the flexibility to spend time with my family—the most important thing to me.”

Her office space also offers her flexibility. “My office is at Uptown Works, a co-working space in the heart of Somerset,” Pugh said. “The space gives me an office to work in and network with other business owners while not incurring the huge overhead costs of my own office building.”

Uptown Works provides office space that she can call her own and offers community and encouragement. “Everyone here collaborates and encourages one another,” Pugh said. “I have the drive and determination, but the people here… they come around you and support you and your business.”

“Fate brought me to Uptown Works,” she added. “[I am fortunate to have] landed in a world where everyone that surrounds me supports and encourages me to be better.”

“With the right help, it’s not hard to start a business,” she added. “My husband and I both own successful businesses and have had amazing support, from advice to hands-on help.”

“Working with small business owners every day,” Reckner said,  “I’ve witnessed a genuine need for the services Roz offers.  She has a lot of ideas for what she wanted to do to grow her book of business while helping other small business owners like herself.  The only missing piece was some guidance in translating her vision and existing expertise into a business.”

My goal is to become a trusted partner for my clients, guiding them through their administrative and insurance requirements throughout their journey.

Pugh said she has helped small businesses break free from the entrepreneurial chains. “Client satisfaction is my core business philosophy,” she said. “By implementing effective systems and providing dedicated support, I’ve been able to help small businesses reduce their workload and enhance their overall efficiency.”

Pugh shared that building relationships and serving the community are important parts of her business. “I prioritize building strong, long-term relationships by consistently exceeding expectations, offering personalized solutions, and providing ongoing support. My goal is to become a trusted partner for my clients, guiding them through their administrative and insurance requirements throughout their journey,” she said.
